Tears may flow in the night,

but joy comes in the morning.

Psalm 30:5

In his First Letter to the Thessalonians, Paul urges the disciples to “pray without ceasing” (5:17). While prayer should be a major part of our daily life, few of us achieve continual prayer. Outside of communal prayer, probably the most popular time to pray is before a meal. Although most of us usually fall back on some variation of “Bless us, O Lord…,” the one time of year many put a little more thought into grace before a meal is on Thanksgiving.

We at Liguori invite you to share your own prayers or traditions surrounding this special occasion with the Liguorian family. Whether it’s your day-to-day version or your special holiday prayer, we’d like to hear from you. If you can provide any background information on the prayer, please do so.

Our goal is to share some of these prayers on our website and publish a selection of them in the November issue of Liguorian.

God bless and bon appétit.
