Room for Error?

I don’t know about you, but I find the word discernment a little intimidating. It’s my responsibility as a Christian to do God’s will, but figuring out what that means in every situation is not as simple as I’d like it to be. Some choices seem inconsequential, like what to eat or what household project to undertake next. Others, like discerning a vocation, are life-changing. It can feel overwhelming. How can we feel sure we really know God’s opinion, anyway?
Some people believe discerning God’s will is a matter of following the simplest path. When things fall into place, it’s a sign we’re doing what we’re supposed to.
