Remember when we were learning how to drive and how enthusiastically we prepared for the exams we had to pass in order to obtain a license? The road test was nerve-racking, to be sure. But before that, the written examination meant studying a book of rules and regulations that all automobile operators are supposed to know. The multiple-choice selections are sometimes worded in such a way that the test-takers second-guess themselves and select the wrong answer.
One question many people answer incorrectly pertains to school buses and is straightforward: Who may pass a school bus when it is loading and unloading children? The choices can raise serious doubts. For example, can first-responder vehicles like ambulances or fire trucks that are rushing to an emergency call pass a school bus? How about police cars engaged in a chase?
