The Christmas Key
My father was in the US Army. As children, he sent my sisters, brother, and me off to school each morning with a “call and response” chant reminiscent of boot camp. “What’s the key to good grades?” he would shout. We would call back, “Participation!” I carry that “key” with me even today.
In which key do you sing? Have you taken a shot from the top of the key in basketball? Password is a fancy, modern way to say key; passwords are keys. Car keys, answer keys, and the key to success. Keys are everywhere. We use keys in our life of faith. Beauty and suffering are keys that can help us unlock our understanding of the mind and heart of God.
