Life’s Mountains
Written by: Nanci Mascia
When life’s mountains come your way
There is one thing I can say.
Take the hand of the one you love,
And climb each threshold,
Till you’re high above
As you climb, your tears will flow
And as you stumble, you’ll feel, you can’t go on
The little pathway you’ll encounter will seem to be impassable.
But the only way you can climb is up.
Listen to my words and tuck them deep inside your heart.
You’ll look up into the sky many times,
And with a bursting heart,
Ask the Lord why?
As one day rolls into another, the question is the same.
And each day you climb a little higher,
It seem He doesn’t hear your plea
But in time you can slowly look up and see,
Where the top of the mountain could be,
And as you look back and see where you and your love were taken.
You’ll find the two of you were not alone.
Then how peaceful you will feel inside
To know He took the climb with you.
Only then, are your eyes opened,
To all the gifts you learned while you were climbing
That through faith, patience, and endurance
In each of life’s mountains you were asked to climb,
There was a lesson for you to take with you.
You will be taken to the highest mountain,
To your final resting place where you can be
With Him who came along, with the two of you
Then you can enjoy being the perfect person
You needed to be in order to enter heaven.
